Once a pride of the entire nation and now an animal on the brink of extinction. Must say, even an authority doubly strong than the PETA cannot change the thought of people for animals in this country. Crazy to see people wearing teeth and nails of this animal for sheer pride mixed with superstition that it conquers evil forces.

Corruption is the primary reason why poachers have made the Indian forests their safe haven. More than resources, we need forest officers who can resist the lure of easy money. That said, let’s hope that the world bank’s infusion of funds makes life easier for our beleaguered national animal.

Forest Officers make a lot of money from these Illicit practices and sadly there is no way to check them. The reason as you pointed out Jay is the involvement of higher officials for Tiger Skin even gets illegally imported. It is major scandal that has never been exposed and now the situation is such that our beloved Tiger is on the brink of extinction. WB money would also go in vain and I am ready to put my bets on it.
