Honda has developed a new engine which is about to rule the car market in future. Its termed as the bombshell that is about to explore in few year of time with its capability of converting the waste heat from the car’s exhaust and turn it into work , based on the Rankine cycle .

Principally water is heated, converted to steam, and the steam’s expansion is used to turn a generator which produces electric power used for charging the batteries. The idea has demonstrated more efficiency than the regenerative breaking system working in most modern hybrid cars. It is 13% talented and produces 3 times as much energy as a regenerative braking system in the EPA highway cycle .The mileage is ineffective on highway but heat detain could give helping hand to the mileage on highway and city driving.

The engine is not so efficient so that it could be installed in production vehicles, but added that it may change if the efficiency of the engine is increased.

It’s a brilliant new frontier, one with reason beyond vehicles for Honda and there is a long way to go
