Researchers must work harder at a less dangerous solution.

unfortunately this treatment will have a dangerous side-effect. treating one problem will lead to other nicotine-related complications.

hmmm...
sure smoking can boost memory and concentration.
but only if one can live long enough to reap the benefits,
”the fool should live longer on one end than the fire on the other end of the smoke stick to enjoy boosted memory and concentration.”

It’s bizarre how Nicotine’s addictive properties are closely tied to its ability to improve memory. Did you know that a six minute nap could do the exact same thing! Nicotine is difficult to administer other than by smoking, and is highly addictive, it also has innumerable side effects. How in the world can these patients combat all these problems?
In case of the nicotinic receptors, the proteins respond to nicotine and several neuro-signalling chemicals in the brain, including dopamine, noradrenaline, glutamate and serotonin. Dopamine is the chemical that triggers feelings of pleasure in response to certain stimuli such as food or sex, and is closely associated with addiction. It’s quite shameful that the researchers would come up with something like this without weighing the pro’s and con’s.

Smoking can help boost memory and concentration... and, smoking can also take you one step closer to cancer, asthma, and a number of other health hazards.
BTW, its a shame that these fools (read scientists) don’t have enough brains to know what to make public and what to conceal.
Is it necessary to make public all their findings?? This gives an impression that the scientists and researchers are no different than the stripper who runs naked in a sports arena.... attention seekers!

It is not scientists who do popular reporting as well. It is mediocre journalists who quote from scientific publishings and research journals since such reports do sell.
These are all evolving research and are not unrefutable axioms. So next day another group refutes these findings and our journos once again make headlines news out of it.

You have a valid point there!

why thse crazy scientists make such researches? And even if they find such facts for their experiments, why do they releal it? This news will only do a lots of harm to the young mind still stuggling to give up their bad habit. So what if smoking boosts memory, should we neglect its dangerous side effects?
