What a wonderful plan So many mothers are devestated by having to return to work and leave their children. In Mexico there is 40 days with a very moderate pay.

Only 40 days Oscar? That’s too little to give bith to a baby and returning back to the normal physical state. The years long leaves may not be always important, but the maternity (specially for delivery), the leave should be at least of 3 to 4 months, througghout the world. That’s the minimum requirement I think.

40 days is the satandard here.. Of course if a women works in a much nicer, private job she migt get a little more time, or full pay for 40 days, but not the common woman..In the U.S. and many other countries I heard the men can get 6 weeks to bond with their child and help their wives.

This is one cool rule that will have repercussions both the ways. after the initial hiccup, getting back to work and ignoring the baby pangs can cause serious guilt on moms. however in the best interest of the child, the govt. has made a wise move.

’Paid leave for two years to take care of children’ and ’The government has notified that child care leave can also be availed in continuation of the six-month maternity break. It means that a woman employee deciding to have only one child can continue on paid leave for two-and-a-half years at a stretch. ’

This is much more than any woman can ask for! Government jobs are becoming mother-friendly I must say.

OMG.....I envy all those would-be-mothers in government sector.
